Norma Jeane is an approximately 8-year-old, 10lb poodle mix who is as playful and spunky as they come! Our vet suspects she might be as young as 7, and she certainly acts like a lively, playful gal. Norma LIVES for the ball. Her ideal day would consist of chasing the ball non-stop, with short breaks for naps. She's a wonderful companion for people, especially young children who are respectful around dogs. Norma is very sweet, but she's not a cuddler; she wants to play or be independent. If you're looking for an awesome sidekick who is game for anything, Norma is your girl! She has a medium energy level, enjoying car rides and stroller adventures, but truly comes alive indoors with her favorite toy. Norma hasn't shown signs of separation anxiety and is non-destructive when left to roam. She coexists peacefully with other large dogs, acting as if they aren't there, and would be fine in a home with another laid-back dog or as the solo star.
Ideal Home
An adopter who wants to play fetch with her at least 4 times a day is required. She enjoys playing with young, respectful children. She would be fine living with another dog, but she does not like super energetic dogs that get in her space; another laid-back dog would be great.
Ongoing Health
Norma Jeane successfully completed heartworm treatment. She was not able to be spayed prior to treatment, but arrangements will be made with the adopter for an appropriate spay date before she leaves our rescue.
Training & Support
Norma is not 100% potty trained. If a back door is left open, she will go outside. However, if she isn't supervised and the door is closed, she may have an accident inside. She has not yet mastered signaling her need to potty. She is reliably potty trained in her crate, which is a great option when unsupervised.
