Tipper is a 46-year-old Mini Aussie mix with the heart of a loyal companion and the brains you'd expect from a true herding dog. At 3035 pounds, she's the perfect medium-sized sidekicksmall enough to fit into most lifestyles, but sturdy enough to join you on all of life's adventures.
Tipper is fully vetted, heartworm negative, crate trained, and leash trained. In fact, she's so proud of her routine that she'll walk right out of her crate and slip her face into her slip lead on cue like the little professional she is.
Like many sensitive herding breeds, Tipper likes to take her time getting to know new people. She greets visitors with enthusiasm, but she's happiest when people let her set the pace and build trust naturally. Once she knows you're safe, she listens beautifully and thrives with structure, direction, and positive reinforcement.
Tipper enjoys learning new things and loves having a job to doeven if that job is simply being your devoted shadow. She knows her basic manners and is eager to continue building on them with someone who appreciates how rewarding these intelligent dogs can be.
She has done well around other dogs when introductions are managed appropriately. During a recent meeting with a very anxious, barky dog, Tipper impressed everyone with her patience and emotional intelligence. Rather than escalating the situation, she chose to ignore the constant barking and later happily wagged her tail when the other dog relaxed in the backyard. She doesn't need every dog to be her best friendshe simply asks for respectful interactions and thoughtful introductions.
Because Tipper can be cautious with unfamiliar people handling her personal space, especially around her crate, she would do best with an experienced adopter and a home with respectful teenagers (15+) who understand canine boundaries.
If you're looking for a dog who values connection over chaos, who will reward your patience with unwavering loyalty, and who will proudly put her own leash on every morning, Tipper might just be your perfect match.
Tipper isn't looking for just any homeshe's looking for her person. Could that be you?
