Meet Mabel! This approximately 1.5-year-old, 40 lb cattle dog mix is a delightful blend of playful energy and loving companionship. Mabel is completely deaf, but she navigates the world with confidence and joy, never letting her deafness slow her down. She's a smart girl who thrives with a consistent routine and clear expectations, making her a wonderful, albeit unique, companion. Mabel loves to romp with her doggy pals and is happiest when she's part of the action, whether that's a lively play session or a quiet moment near her people.
Ideal Home
Mabel absolutely needs a home with at least one other dog to help her feel secure and confident. She learns from her canine friends and gains a lot of her cues from them. Because she can't hear verbal cues or common household sounds, her future family will need to be dedicated to consistency, especially with potty breaks and training.
Ongoing Health
Mabel is up-to-date on all her vaccinations, is microchipped, and has been spayed. She is currently on heartworm and flea preventative.
Training & Support
Mabel is a social and friendly girl who is not fearful of people or other dogs. She walks beautifully on a leash and stays close to her people and canine companions. She's doing well with house training and is comfortable in a kennel. While she enjoys playing with toys occasionally, her primary joy comes from her social interactions. Consistency in routine and communication will be key to her continued success.
