Chook AKA Chaz JuM

Chook, also known as Chaz JuM, is a charming Bully Breed mix with a soft, rich red coat and wonderfully quirky ears. Weighing in at about 42 pounds, he's not a big boy, but he's got a big personality! Chook's journey brought him to us from a situation where a kind bystander tried their best to foster, but ultimately couldn't keep up with his needs. Fortunately, his current foster parents, who happen to be dog trainers, stepped in! They've been amazing, teaching him commands like "sit," "down," and his favorite "Place," along with valuable leash skills.

Chook can be a bit shy at first, but once he warms up, he's a spirited and playful pup who loves to vocalize and zoom around the backyard like a silly goose.

Ideal Home

Chook would do well in a home with older teenagers. He has a very mouthy play style when interacting with his humans, so he's not the best fit for homes with young children.

Training & Support

Chook has received foundational obedience training and lessons on responding to directional guidance on the leash. He's vocal and energetic, and while he can be a bit pushy with other dogs initially, he's easily corrected. He'd love to go to a home with other dogs who can help him continue to learn. He has not been tested with cats.
