Pheasant 🤍
DOB 01/24/24
About 20 lbs, up to date on shots, spayed, and microchipped.
Some dogs grow up in homes. Pheasant grew up in a shelter. She was just a tiny puppy when she and her siblings were found abandoned on the side of the road… inside a plastic tote. Left there like they didn’t matter. Two of her siblings found homes, but Pheasant… stayed behind. Now she is 2 years old, and she is still waiting. Pheasant is gentle, quiet, and incredibly soft-hearted, but the shelter life is all she has ever known, which has made her fearful. She doesn’t understand that people can be safe. She avoids eye contact. When touched, she freezes… not because she doesn’t want love, but because she doesn’t know what it is yet. And that breaks us. Because we know… somewhere inside her, there is a beautiful dog just waiting to feel safe.
Ideal Home
Pheasant is great with dogs and good with cats. She needs a calm, patient home and would do best with another confident dog to guide her. She doesn’t need perfection; she just needs someone kind, someone patient, someone who will give her time.
Ongoing Health
All vaccinations are up to date, and she has been spayed and microchipped.
Training & Support
Pheasant is fearful and needs a patient adopter to help her learn that people can be safe. While she freezes when touched, it's not because she doesn't want love, but because she doesn't know what it is yet. We know her transformation won’t happen overnight, but dogs like Pheasant, once they trust you, love the deepest.
