Gingersnap, also known as Ginger or Gingey, is a 9-year-old, 9lb Pekingese mix who is the funniest, spunkiest, and most adorable little thing. We don't know her backstory, but she was found as a stray in Houston and has clearly had puppies in her past. She is a friendly, confident, low to medium energy girl who is very playful with most dogs, especially other young pups her size. Gingersnap is potty trained, crate trained, great in the car, and great on leash. She loves her crate as a place to relax, and has shown no separation anxiety. Her exercise routine is pretty low maintenance, consisting of walks and zoomies with other dogs. She is great with handling, though she may let out a small shriek if startled, which has become less frequent as she's settled in.
Ideal Home
Gingersnap would thrive in a home with another very playful small dog. Due to her tendency to be startled, a home without young children would be best.
Ongoing Health
Gingersnap is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and will be able to go to her forever home in September.
Training & Support
She is potty trained and crate trained. Her adopter should be willing to continue basic command training for her safety.
