Mousie

Mousie is a sweet, happy, and resilient pup who arrived at our shelter from a rescue partner in rural Alabama. She was found as a stray and, thankfully, a kind stranger took her in and reached out for help. Mousie is described as the "sweetest dog on earth" and has been adapting incredibly well to her foster home in Chicago, even managing a second-floor apartment! This adaptable girl is a "city mouse" now, proving that she can thrive in any environment.

Ideal Home

Mousie is looking for a home where she can settle in and be loved. She's an all-around easy dog and is easy to love, sure to greet you with a "1000 watt smile" every day!

Ongoing Health

Mousie has an old injury affecting her left hind leg, causing a slight limp. X-rays revealed a dislocated left hip. While this doesn't seem to cause her discomfort now, it may lead to arthritis in the future. Mousie is scheduled for FHO surgery in the coming months, which our organization will cover. This surgery and recovery are typically smooth, with dogs feeling much happier afterward.

Training & Support

Mousie is still learning to do her business on walks, but she is doing well with potty breaks in a yard. She's also getting the hang of using stairs.

Transporation

Mousie is currently in a foster home in Chicago. You can meet her at our popup adoption event at PetSmart Mount Prospect, 101 E. Euclid, from 10 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, July 11th. Transportation may be available.
