Ariana

Ariana is a joyful, happy, peppy, and outgoing dog who has overcome a very rough past. Despite being found in terrible conditions, she remains incredibly loving and trusting. She's a resilient soul with a big heart, eager to share her love unconditionally. Ariana is a "shmedium" size at about 37 lbs, with adorable white fur and cow-print spots.

Ideal Home

Ariana would thrive in a home with another dog to provide her with confidence, as she currently draws comfort from her canine buddy. She loves all humans and other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Ariana is heartworm positive and is currently undergoing treatment. Heartland Animal Shelter will cover the costs of her treatment until she is heartworm negative. Heartworm is a mosquito-borne disease and is not contagious to other dogs or people. Once cured, there are no long-term health effects. Ariana is currently on a course of antibiotics and will receive three injections to treat her heartworm at the shelter. A retest at the adopter's vet 9 months post-treatment will be required to ensure she is heartworm-free.

Training & Support

Ariana is housebroken and has done well when crated for up to 5 hours. She is easy to walk on a harness and has handled city noises well, though she can be a bit nervous on busier streets. She loves toys and cuddles.

Transporation

Ariana is currently in a foster home in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood. She can be met at popup adoption events. Transportation details to other locations can be discussed.
