My name is Kurt, and I'm a 47 lb male hound who's at least 7 years old, but possibly older. I was surrendered back to a shelter through no fault of my own, but thankfully my friends at Hanover Humane Society took me into their program. I'm a super sweet boy who loves to snuggle with both people and other dogs, and my second favorite activity is napping! If you give me a comfy bed, I'm happy for hours. My vision isn't the best, so I bump into things sometimes, and I'm also a little hard of hearing. My nose, however, works perfectly, and as a typical hound, I love to follow scents on walks, which means I can pull a bit on the leash. I'm not a fan of hyper dogs that jump on me or play too rough, as I have a very low-key personality.
Ideal Home
I'm pretty much housetrained, but I do need to go out a bit more often than a younger dog. I can hold it for a while if you're home, but I have a hard time holding it all day or all night. A home with people who are around often for extra walks, or a home with a doggy door, would be ideal. I'm a forgiving soul who's had a rough time, and I promise to repay your kindness with all the love and cuddles you can handle.
Ongoing Health
I'm neutered and up to date on Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccines. I've also tested negative for heartworms and am on monthly heartworm preventative.
Training & Support
I do pull a bit on leash due to my strong scent drive. I'm also working on my housetraining and need frequent potty breaks.
