Meet Zeke! This handsome 3-year-old American Akita is looking for a patient and experienced owner. Zeke is a dog who appreciates respect and needs time to warm up to new people, especially males. He's not one for immediate affection or belly rubs, but he is very food-motivated! Earning his trust will be a rewarding experience, and he'll quickly become a loyal and protective companion. Zeke and another dog, Zoey, were sadly abandoned at a kill shelter in North Carolina after being with backyard breeders. He's ready for a fresh start with a family who understands his breed and can provide the stability he deserves.

Zeke would thrive in a home with an owner who is experienced with the Akita breed and can provide him with the time and space he needs to feel comfortable.
