BARNEY

Barney is a love bug who adores people and a good head scratch! He's incredibly focused on his human companions, looking at you like you're the most important thing in the world. Barney already knows how to "sit" and is very eager to learn more commands. He came to us with another dog, and while we believe they were siblings, Barney was being bullied in the kennel and needed to be separated. He might do well with another dog who is laid-back and allows him to be himself without being overbearing. Barney left for a foster home with high hopes for a foster-to-adopt situation, but unfortunately, he had to return. While he was never aggressive, his enthusiasm and size were a bit much for the young children in the home. Barney tends to get excited, body slam, and then lay on top of people with all his might!

Ideal Home

Barney would do best in a home with children 12 and up, and with owners who have experience with strong, enthusiastic dogs. A home that can provide consistent training and structure will help him succeed.
