Meet Rio!

Rio is a beautiful young Shepherd mix with a hint of Whippet, and she's as graceful as she is smart. Born around May 1, 2025, she currently weighs about 30 pounds and is growing into her lean, athletic build. We expect Rio to be a medium-sized dog when fully grown. She was rescued from an abandoned home in Texas and has shown resilience, friendliness, and a gentle spirit, making her a wonderful companion. Rio is reserved at first but is blossoming into an affectionate and loyal dog. Her foster family describes her as super smart, eager to please, and full of potential. She'll be a great companion for an active person or family looking for a bright, loving dog to share life's adventures with.

Ideal Home

Rio would love a canine companion to play and explore with, though it's not a requirement. We recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both Rio and the family.

Training & Support

Rio is doing wonderfully with her house training and is crate trained. She’s a quick learner and is even working on ringing a bell to let her fosters know when she needs to go outside! She is learning her leash manners. Like all rescue pups, Rio is a work in progress and will continue to bloom with love and consistency.
