Norma Jeane is an approximately 8-year-old, 10lb poodle mix with a personality as spunky and playful as they come! While the shelter estimated her age at 10, our vet believes she might be as young as 7, and she certainly acts like it! Her absolute favorite thing in the world is a ball, and her ideal day involves endless games of fetch. She's looking for a dedicated playmate who can join her for at least four games of fetch a day – ball is truly life for this sweet girl!
Norma Jeane adores people, and she has a special soft spot for young children who are gentle and respectful. She's very sweet and will follow her favorite humans around, always ready for playtime. However, she's not much of a cuddler; she'd rather play with you or entertain herself. If you're searching for a snuggly lap dog, Norma Jeane isn't the one. But if you're seeking an energetic and enthusiastic companion ready for any adventure, she's your perfect match!
She has a medium energy level, enjoying short walks or car rides where she can observe the world. But once indoors with her beloved ball, she's ready for action! Norma Jeane doesn't exhibit separation anxiety and is non-destructive when left to her own devices. She is still working on her potty training; while she will go outside if the door is open, she may have accidents inside if not closely supervised. She is reliably potty trained in her crate, making it a great option when you're away. She also travels wonderfully in the car, loving to gaze out the window.
Norma Jeane coexists peacefully with other dogs, even large ones, though she prefers to keep to herself. She would do well with a laid-back canine companion but is also perfectly content to be the only dog in the household. She is not a fan of overly energetic dogs that invade her space.
Ideal Home
Norma Jeane needs a home with an adopter who is committed to playing fetch with her at least four times a day. She thrives with gentle and respectful children. She would prefer a home without super energetic dogs that get in her space, but would also be happy as a solo dog.
Ongoing Health
Norma Jeane successfully completed heartworm treatment. She was not spayed prior to treatment due to the priority of her heartworm care, but arrangements will be made for her spay surgery before she leaves our rescue.
Training & Support
Norma Jeane is a work in progress with potty training. She needs continued supervision and positive reinforcement to master her house manners. She is crate trained and does not have accidents in her crate.

Transportation
All our dogs are fostered in Houston, TX. We work with trusted transport partners to bring our dogs to over 30 cities in the United States. Adopters are also welcome to pick up their new family member in Houston. Once an adoption is confirmed, we will work with you to arrange the best transportation plan.
