Meet Duncan!

Duncan is a delightful 5-year-old male Shih Tzu who's bursting with a happy, spunky personality and a playful spirit! He came to us after being released from a breeding situation, and since finding his foster home, he's discovered the pure joy of toys, happily shaking them around with infectious enthusiasm. While Duncan is often busy exploring and engaging in playtime, he also really enjoys receiving butt scratches and gentle petting. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would make a fantastic playmate for another small canine companion. However, he'd also be perfectly content to be the sole ruler of his castle, basking in all the attention just for himself.

Ideal Home

Duncan would thrive in a home that can continue his house-training journey with a consistent, puppy-like schedule of frequent potty breaks. He also needs a family committed to using a crate or exercise pen when he can't be directly supervised.

Ongoing Health

Duncan has abnormal posture in both his front and hind limbs, with his elbows and knees turned outwards. While he currently has a normal gait and range of motion, these skeletal abnormalities mean he may be more susceptible to arthritis or injury due to how he bears weight on his joints. Duncan is scheduled to be neutered and undergo a dental procedure on July 16th.

Training & Support

Duncan is still mastering the basics of house training and currently wears a belly band indoors. He is also working on leash training. He sleeps quietly and comfortably in his exercise pen at night without any issues.
