Meet Arthur!
Arthur is a 5-year-old, 78-pound neutered Staffordshire Terrier/Retriever mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This handsome boy is the perfect combination of playful adventure buddy and affectionate cuddle companion. He was found roaming around a park and brought to a county shelter, but thankfully, a foster home stepped in to help him. Arthur approaches every day with enthusiasm and is a moderate energy dog who enjoys playtime, exploring, and spending time with his people. He's affectionate, playful, and incredibly sweet, and he thinks if he can fit, he can sit! Arthur is also a big fan of car rides – mention the words "car ride" and you'll have his full attention!
Ideal Home
Arthur would thrive in a home that can provide regular exercise, structure, and plenty of opportunities to be part of the family. While he doesn't need another dog, he would do well with people who enjoy including their dog in everyday adventures. Because of his size and excitement, he could accidentally knock over a small child during play, so a family that understands his energetic nature and can provide appropriate outlets for his enthusiasm is ideal.
Ongoing Health
Arthur is a healthy boy with no known ongoing health conditions mentioned.
Training & Support
Arthur is fully house-trained and crate-trained, settling nicely in his crate for extended periods. He may pull at first on walks but settles into the routine and does well. He has successfully interacted with dogs of various sizes and has been around cats and pot-bellied pigs, showing curiosity but no aggression. Proper introductions and supervision are recommended with any new animal companions.
