Barkus Aurelius Roman, affectionately known as Aurelio, is a charming 4-month-old Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix with a heart as big as his regal name suggests! This handsome boy is a goofy, affectionate puppy who simply dreams of finding his forever kingdom. Aurelio boasts a stunning creamy tan coat and mesmerizing icy blue eyes that are sure to capture your attention. His soulful gaze, floppy ears, and sweet puppy face make him an instant heart-melter.

As the only male in his litter, Aurelio is a true gentleman. He's happiest when he's with his people, whether he's playfully wrestling with his sisters, enjoying belly rubs, or snuggling up for a cuddle. He’s eager to be part of any adventure! Aurelio thrives on a structured routine, which includes meals, playtimes, crate training, potty breaks, naps, and plenty of learning opportunities. He’s a quick learner, especially when it comes to commands like "lay," "stay," and "paw," and is highly food-motivated, making training sessions fun and rewarding. He's making excellent progress with crate and potty training, and is learning valuable lessons in patience and impulse control.

Ideal Home

Aurelio would thrive in a home that can provide consistency, positive reinforcement, and plenty of love as he continues to grow. He lives harmoniously with his two sisters and an older, 7-year-old Staffordshire mix who is not always interested in puppy antics. Aurelio is learning to respect his older companion's boundaries. While he hasn't been introduced to cats or young children, slow and supervised introductions would be recommended. He is friendly and affectionate but is still working on managing his excitement, so adopters should be prepared to help him with jumping when he gets overstimulated.

Ongoing Health

Aurelio is a healthy puppy and his adoption fee includes all necessary vetting, including DAPP vaccinations with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12-month heartworm preventative injection, heartworm testing and treatment if needed, and a microchip with free lifetime registration.

Training & Support

Aurelio is a smart and eager puppy who is already making great strides in his training. He is well-progressed in crate training and potty training, and is learning impulse control. Continued consistency, positive reinforcement, and patience will help him continue to blossom into a well-behaved adult dog. He is working on not jumping when excited.

Aurelio is currently in Texas. Wags offers nationwide transport via USDA-certified transport, ensuring safe and comfortable travel for all pets with 24/7 care. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada (with pick-up options in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A real-time tracking system, photo updates, and a private Facebook event page will keep you connected throughout the journey.
