Meet Pepe Le Pew! He's a 9-week-old male Chihuahua/Terrier mix, weighing in at about 3 pounds, but he's still growing! Pepe and his eight siblings were found abandoned on the streets of Houston, and thankfully, our rescue was able to step in and give them all a second chance. Pepe is the charming, masked bandit of his litter, always on the lookout for a good chew stick, but he's also a big snuggler who prefers cozy naps and puppy kisses over mischief. He's a lover, not a fighter, with a sweet and gentle personality that's impossible to resist.
Ideal Home
Pepe is a brave and social little pup who should do well with children, cats, and other dogs, provided introductions are done appropriately. Given his tiny size, any resident pets should be gentle and experienced with very small dogs, and all interactions should be supervised. As a young puppy, Pepe cannot be left alone for extended periods. We are seeking a home where someone is present most of the time to help with his socialization, training, and care. If you work outside the home for more than 4 hours at a time, we would consider your application only if another adult in the household will be available to care for him during the day. Please be sure to detail your puppy care plan in your application if this applies to your situation.
Ongoing Health
Pepe is a puppy with an unknown parentage, so his adult size and breed mix are a mystery. Adopters should be prepared for surprises!
Training & Support
Pepe is still learning about the world and will need a committed family to help him grow into a confident, well-mannered adult. Like all puppies his age, he is still working on potty and crate training. His new family should be prepared to continue consistent training, frequent potty breaks, positive reinforcement, and plenty of patience as he learns. Puppies thrive with structure, routine, and supervision, and Pepe is no exception.

Pepe is currently in a foster home in Austin, Texas. He is able to be transported once he is matched with an adopter. Transports depart every few weeks. If you are unable to accept a dog until a specific time, please apply closer to that time.
