Melody

Hi, I am Melody, a 1.5 year old Belgian Malinois weighing about 45 pounds. I was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas, and now I am ready to find a family that understands just how special my breed can be. I am incredibly smart, eager to learn and the kind of dog who picks up new things almost instantly. Show me something once, and there is a good chance I will already understand what you are asking. I truly enjoy working with my person and making them proud.

I likely have good house manners since I keep my kennel clean, but it is hard to know for certain while I am living in a shelter environment. I can get a little excited when it is time for an adventure, especially on leash, but I respond very well to guidance and correction. I am attentive, highly trainable and thrive with structure and consistency. Because I am such an intelligent dog, I will do best with a family that will keep both my mind and body active through training, walks, games and new adventures.

I love being included in whatever my people are doing and enjoy spending time with them. I seem to do well with other dogs, and I can be cat tested upon request. More than anything, I am looking for someone who appreciates the incredible loyalty, intelligence and drive that comes with my breed. I will come fully vetted, spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.
