Casper and Lumi are a bonded pair of 2-year-old dogs who are looking for a patient and loving home. They have been in foster care since November 2025 after a stay at an animal shelter. It's clear they haven't had the easiest start in life, and they are still learning to trust, relax, and be themselves in a home environment. Despite their past, they try their best every day, and their personalities shine through when they see their favorite person, with wagging tails and wiggling bodies. Lumi adds her own happy vocalizations to the mix!
Casper is the more confident of the two and often takes the lead. Lumi is still building her confidence, particularly when it comes to being touched, and can be more comfortable in her crate. However, she has her own sweet ways of showing affection, like gently "booping" toes. She's making wonderful progress and will happily sit with her person on the couch, as long as she can approach on her own terms. Both dogs are highly motivated by food, which has been a great tool for building trust. They are not destructive, enjoy toys and chew bones, and are mostly house-trained. They share a deep bond and must be adopted together. They also get along well with other dogs, especially calm and confident ones who help them feel safe.
Ideal Home
A secure fenced yard (5 ft minimum) is a must. They would do best in a calm environment without small children. Their ideal adopter will be patient and understand that building trust takes time, but the rewards are immense.
