Fernando Silverio

Fernando Silverio is a sweet little soul with the charm of a tiny grumpy old man and the heart of a true gentleman. He is a male Border Terrier Mix, approximately 4 years old and weighs 13.4 lbs. Fernando is calm and well-mannered, perfectly suited for a relaxed home where he can enjoy peaceful moments and gentle routines. He is social and does well with other dogs, children, men, and women. Fernando is friendly but shy at first, especially when receiving affection. Once he feels safe, his personality shines through with his adorable, serious little face that makes everyone smile. Because of his age, he is naturally calm and laid-back, preferring quiet companionship over chaos. He enjoys being around other dogs and coexisting peacefully, making him a great fit for a home looking for a gentle, low-energy companion. Fernando may look like a grumpy old soul, but his sweet gaze and quiet presence make him incredibly endearing. He is waiting patiently for a loving home that will understand his shyness and give him the time he needs to trust.

Ideal Home

Fernando would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. He is looking for a family with a genuine intention to rescue a dog, understanding the behaviors of street animals and their need for protection and education. Previous experience in dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer for this intelligent dog. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential.

Ongoing Health

Fernando has completed a comprehensive health protocol including: Spay/Neuter Certificate, 2 shots of DHPPI Vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, Bordetella Vaccine, Dewormed, Microchipped, 4DX Test and Certificate, Heartworm test Negative Certificate, Monthly Preventive Protection Nexgard Spectra (fleas, ticks and heartworm), Health Certificate, and has his Vaccines booklet.

Training & Support

Fernando is not house-trained. It is important to understand that rescued dogs may have experienced trauma and require an adjustment period, patience, and understanding to build trust. Clear routines and boundaries will help him feel secure.

• Fill out our adoption form.
• Send photos/videos of your home to ensure your future furry friend will be safe.
• If it's a match, we'll call or video chat to introduce you to the pet and conduct a virtual home tour.
• We will speak with 1-2 of your references.
• If approved, you'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which helps cover vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and food.

Transporation

Fernando is currently fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. He is available for transport to the East Coast on our cross-country trips, with door-to-door delivery available for a one-time fee of $400 USD. These scheduled trips occur 3-4 times per year with a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. Our partnered transport company ensures a safe and comfortable journey, providing all necessary legal documents including a Transport Contract, Health Certificate from the USDA, and certificates regarding health protocols. Real-time updates will be provided in a private Facebook Messenger group with adopters and the transport team.
