Gunner is a 3-year-old, 50-pound male black and tan hound mix with a heart as big as Texas! He was rescued from a small-town pound and is now ready to trade the heat for a cool, comfortable couch. Gunner is a master of indoor living, preferring to snooze in the air conditioning. He’ll venture out for potty breaks and a quick romp with his pals, but he’s always eager to return to his cool sanctuary. He loves toys, treats, and has a blast playing with other dogs. Gunner is affectionate and thrives on human attention and petting.
Ideal Home
A home that understands and appreciates hound behaviors! Gunner goes "ballistic" over squirrels and will bark at passersby, other dogs, and cats. He's also a bit of a mischievous foodie, prone to counter-surfing and investigating unsecured garbage cans with his partners in crime. Gunner prefers to be inside and out of the Texas heat, so a home with good AC is a must.
Ongoing Health
Gunner is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He has been treated for heartworms, is now heartworm-negative, and is on monthly heartworm and flea prevention.
Training & Support
Gunner is crate-trained and comes when called. He walks well on a leash, rides calmly in a vehicle, and is good with baths. He could benefit from continued guidance on his barking and counter-surfing behaviors.
