Sweet Boone is a 2-year-old, neutered Chihuahua/Dachshund mix who weighs approximately 18 pounds. He has the kindest face and the softest, most soulful eyes. Boone came to us after being rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation, where many dogs were living outdoors among piles of trash and debris with very little human interaction. Despite everything he's been through, Boone has remained incredibly gentle, sweet, and eager to experience the love he has always deserved. Like many dogs from neglect situations, Boone is still learning that the world can be a safe place. He's making steady progress every day but will thrive with a patient family who understands that trust is earned through kindness, consistency, and time. Every new experience is another opportunity for Boone to build confidence, and watching him come out of his shell is incredibly rewarding.
Ideal Home
Boone would do best in a calm, patient home that will continue his socialization and help him build confidence at his own pace. Because of his sensitive nature, a quieter home may be the best fit, and a friendly, confident resident dog could help show him that people and new experiences aren't so scary after all.
Ongoing Health
Boone is a 2-year-old neutered male. No specific health conditions are mentioned.
Training & Support
Boone is learning to walk on a leash and continues to gain confidence with gentle encouragement. He does well in his crate, where he feels safe and secure. Positive reinforcement, predictable routines, and compassionate guidance will help him continue to thrive.
