Rio SM

Meet Rio! This charming pup is a real character, looking a lot like his favorite treat – an Oreo cookie! He's a super fast learner who loves to train for food. Rio knows his name, sit, come, down, and "rest for cooperative care," along with a hand target. He's a big fan of fetch and tug-of-war, and while he's working on sharing his toys (he can be a bit possessive, especially with treats), he's making great progress with his foster mom's help. He also enjoys car rides, though he's still getting used to restraints. Bath time and nail trims are no problem for this adaptable boy, who also enjoys the occasional couch potato impersonation.

Ideal Home

Rio would do best in a home with a sturdy, chill dog friend who is his size or larger and isn't easily annoyed. He needs a canine companion who can gently correct his boisterous play style without getting overwhelmed. Rio is not a fan of cats and would not be a good fit for a household with them.

Ongoing Health

Rio is up-to-date on his vaccinations and is neutered. He is not currently on any medication.

Training & Support

Rio is working on his dog-on-dog social skills and learning to share his toys. He's a motivated learner when food is involved and has a good grasp of basic commands. His foster mom, a professional trainer, is happy to offer guidance and tips to help him continue his journey to being a "good boy."
