About Coraline
Coraline is a sweet, curious, silly, cuddly, and endlessly entertaining 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix who currently weighs 45 lbs and is expected to reach 85-90 lbs. She has an irresistible quirkiness that brings laughter daily, especially with her favorite game of peek-a-boo, which often ends in happy zoomies. Coraline is deeply people-oriented, following her foster family around like a shadow, always wanting to be near. She shows affection through gentle puppy kisses and resting a paw or her nose against your leg. She has a calm and balanced temperament, making her an excellent work-from-home companion, happy to entertain herself quietly. Coraline is also social with people and other dogs, greeting them calmly before resuming play. She's the perfect blend of playful yet laid-back, independent yet loving, and goofy yet intuitive, ready to be your sidekick, shadow, and best friend.
Ideal Home
Coraline is a low to medium-energy pup who enjoys short bursts of play. She would thrive in a home that embraces both adventure and relaxation, whether it's leisurely walks, weekend hikes, or cozy evenings on the couch. She loves being involved in her family's daily routine and would appreciate puzzle toys and treat-dispensing games to keep her entertained. While she's not yet fully confident in busy public areas, with more exposure and socialization, she has the potential to be a great outdoor adventure buddy. She needs to live in a home with a fenced yard and would not be a good fit for apartments or condos due to potential noise sensitivity. Coraline requires another dog in her forever home as she thrives with canine companionship. She could also happily live with older children and cats, provided they are dog-friendly. Public dog parks are not recommended for her. Her ideal family will spend quality time with her and love her unconditionally.
Ongoing Health
Coraline is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, has been spayed, microchipped, and is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has received a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and has had any necessary veterinary care while in rescue.
Training & Support
Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained. She sleeps soundly in her kennel at night but also enjoys sleeping in bed with her foster mom. She is learning to use doggy stairs to get on and off the bed. She has begun leash training and needs extra practice to boost her confidence on walks, but she is highly treat-motivated. She alerts her foster mom when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door and can also use a doggy door. A consistent potty schedule of every 3-4 hours is recommended until she settles into her new routine. Using a doggy doorbell can be helpful if a doggy door is not available.
