Rio

Rio is a charming 1-year-old, 19lb Chihuahua & Dachshund mix bursting with love to give. He might be a little shy at first, but with a little time and a tasty treat, his affectionate and loyal nature will truly shine. You'll often find him peeking out from under blankets or sneaking around corners for a glimpse of you, eager for some love.

Ideal Home

Rio would thrive in a calm home environment where he can feel safe and secure. He would do best without young children. A fenced-in yard is ideal, providing a safe space for him to continue practicing his leash-walking skills.

Ongoing Health

Rio is potty trained and crate trained. He enjoys his crate and we hope his new home can provide him with 24/7 access to it so he can use it whenever he pleases.

Training & Support

Rio is still working on his leash manners and would benefit from a patient adopter who can help him build confidence. With consistency and encouragement, he'll surely become a wonderful walking companion. He enjoys slow introductions to larger dogs to ensure he doesn't feel threatened, but he is playful and sweet with other dogs. He is also great with cats.
