Meet Aries, a passionate, loving, energetic, and fiercely devoted black lab mix who truly lives up to her name! At nearly 5 years old and just over 50 pounds, Aries is the perfect combination of playful fun and cuddle bug, with a personality that's impossible not to love. Aries is quite simply one of the most affectionate dogs you'll ever meet. She's a certified kissing bandit who firmly believes that personal space is overrated. If you're sitting down, she's probably trying to climb into your lap. If you're walking around the house, she'll happily follow along as your loyal sidekick. At bedtime, don't be surprised if she wants to snuggle under the covers. Aries loves deeply and isn't shy about showing it.
Aries's love for home life is especially meaningful given her past. She came from a situation where she was neglected and left outside, never taken on walks and never allowed indoors. Now that she's experienced comfort, companionship, and kindness, it's clear just how much she appreciates it. She doesn't take the good life for granted.
Ideal Home
Aries would likely do best as the only pet in the home where she can soak up all the attention for herself. For out-of-state adopters especially, an only-dog home may be the easiest fit since resident dogs won't have the opportunity to meet her beforehand. Aries would probably do best in a kitty-free home. While she hasn't lived with cats, she has shown a strong interest in chasing critters like possums, so we'd rather err on the side of caution. A fenced yard would be a huge bonus so she can safely stretch her legs and enjoy playtime.
Ongoing Health
All of our dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive to their adopters spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped. Note: We cannot guarantee full grown size or breed mix. Both are guesses based on physical characteristics and any known history.
Training & Support
In her foster home, Aries has proven to be a wonderful house dog. She's house trained, crate trained, knows how to sit, and uses a doggie door like a pro. She enjoys her daily walks, loves a good game of fetch, and is always up for some backyard playtime. She's still working on perfecting her leash manners, but she's eager to learn.
