Barney

Meet Barney, a charming 2-year-old, 75-pound Staffordshire Terrier mix with a heart of gold! Barney is a true love bug who initially arrived at the shelter scared and huddled with other dogs. Thankfully, he was rescued and is now thriving in a foster home, ready to find his forever family. He's fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.

Ideal Home

Barney would love a home with a canine companion, as he gains confidence and walks beautifully on leash when he has a dog friend by his side. He's also cat-friendly and currently lives with cats, but he does get excited and chase them, so a home with dog-savvy cats would be ideal. While Barney is gentle with children, due to his size, a home with older children is recommended. He can be shy with sudden or loud noises.

Ongoing Health

Barney is up-to-date on all his vaccinations and has been neutered.

Training & Support

Barney is fully potty-trained and crate-trained, doing well when left alone. He's also a champion toy and resource sharer with his foster sibling! He walks wonderfully on leash when with another dog, gaining confidence from their presence. Barney is initially shy with strangers but warms up quickly. He would benefit from continued positive reinforcement and a patient approach as he settles into a new environment.
