Moby is a 14-pound bundle of sweet, shy affection. He was found running the streets, likely abandoned, and had to learn to survive on his own for months before being rescued. This tough start has made him a little timid with new people and situations, but beneath that initial hesitation is a loving companion waiting to blossom. Once Moby feels safe and trusts you, he becomes incredibly attached, like a little velcro dog, and his playful personality truly shines through.
Ideal Home
Moby would thrive in a mature home without small children, where patience is a virtue. He needs a home that understands his past experiences and is willing to allow him to adjust at his own pace. While he's good with other small dogs, he can get overwhelmed by too many or those who play too roughly. He'd do best as an only dog or with one or two calm canine companions. Because he can experience fear aggression in situations where he feels threatened and doesn't readily trust strangers, a home without dog parks or doggie daycare would be ideal. Absolutely no doggie doors.
Ongoing Health
Moby required extensive vetting upon arrival. He is now vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed, neutered, and microchipped with lifetime registration. He was heartworm positive and has successfully completed treatment. He is now on monthly heartworm prevention.
Training & Support
Moby is a smart boy who needs a patient and understanding adopter to help him build his confidence. For everyone's safety, he wears a muzzle during vet visits due to his fear of strangers. He finds comfort and security in his crate, which serves as his safe space.
