Meet Simba!
Simba is a goofy, eight-year-old Boxer with a handsome brown brindle coat and white accents. He approaches life with joyful curiosity, finding delight in toys and new sounds. Simba is very food motivated, which makes him a star during snack time and a prime candidate for positive reinforcement learning. He's searching for a loving new home after his devoted pet parent passed away.
Despite his 97-pound frame, Simba believes he's a lap dog and loves to lean in for cuddles, sometimes forgetting about personal space! He sleeps soundly when left alone, enjoys chew toys, and gets very excited for walks and car rides. Simba is friendly with other dogs and has lived harmoniously with his canine companion, Sophie, adding playful and easygoing energy. While he hasn't been around cats, his gentle and social nature suggests he might be open to new friendships with a careful introduction. He's affectionate and patient with children, but his enthusiasm can be a bit much for very young kids, so supervision and guidance are recommended for everyone's comfort. Simba can be a little timid in new situations and may take a moment to warm up to unfamiliar people, but once he feels secure, his sweet and content personality truly shines.
Ideal Home
Simba thrives in a calm, confident home where his family appreciates Boxer charm, slobbery kisses, and his constant desire for closeness. A household where someone is often home for companionship and cuddles would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Simba benefits from a routine of smaller, more frequent meals to support his sensitive tummy and may occasionally require a special diet. He has received care for hip discomfort after overexertion and has a few harmless skin bumps.
Training & Support
Simba is food motivated, making him a great candidate for training. He can be timid in new situations and may need gentle encouragement to warm up to new people.
