Kamoku & Kasumi

Kamoku and Kasumi were their mom's pride and joy, and she cherished them enough to create a decade's worth of holiday photo cards! Sadly, when their mom's health declined and she had to move into a nursing home, no one in her life stepped up to care for her beloved pups. They were left with only their holiday cards and a one-way trip to the shelter.

Kamoku, a 14-year-old Dachshund mix weighing 17 lbs, and Kasumi, a 5-year-old Cairn Terrier mix who currently weighs 38 lbs (goal weight 22 lbs), are a bonded pair. When separated, Kamoku stopped eating and Kasumi cried incessantly. These two sweethearts are truly inseparable and must be adopted together. When they are together, they are mellow, affectionate, and coexist calmly with other pets and children.

Ideal Home

Kamoku and Kasumi need a home where they can stay together and continue to be cherished. They are good with children, cats, and other dogs, and would likely do well in a variety of home environments as long as they are together.

Ongoing Health

Kamoku is a senior dog at 14 years old. Kasumi is currently overweight and working towards a goal weight of 22 lbs.

Training & Support

Both Kamoku and Kasumi are described as mellow and affectionate. They are good with other pets and children.

Transporation

Kamoku and Kasumi are currently fostered in Brooklyn, NY. They are available for local or out-of-state adoption, but adopters must be able to travel to meet them.
