Charlie Monaghan arrived as a stray and was never claimed. He is estimated to be 10 years old and weighs 13.5 pounds. After becoming a Frosted Face, this sweetest boy spent two months with a foster family, giving us the opportunity to learn more about him in a home environment.
Cuddly little Charlie is as easygoing as they come. He's very gentle, not food aggressive at all, and perfectly content spending his days lounging on soft blankets, napping in his bed, or curling up beside his person. Charlie loves being held and will happily sit in your lap while you enjoy coffee or lunch out – he's the perfect cafe companion! Charlie is a true homebody and enjoys being indoors best. He isn't a fan of leash walks or hanging out in the yard, so his foster mom just took him outside every few hours briefly to go potty. Stroller rides are much more his style! Charlie is also good in the car, though he does best when secured in a cozy seat or carrier where he can settle down comfortably. Charlie LOVES to eat and does a cute little happy dance when it's mealtime! Due to some age-related stiffness, he benefits from an elevated food bowl so he doesn't have to bend down as far while eating. Once he is fed and goes potty, Charlie takes a long nap and sleeps soundly. Charlie also gets along well with other dogs, though his gentle nature means he'd do best with calm, respectful companions who won't push him around. He is a perfect gentleman around cats, too! Charlie is wonderfully well-behaved when left alone – no barking, no crying – just napping. His foster mom found it helpful for him to wear belly bands. Charlie is a sweetheart with people of all ages, including children. He may be a bit hard of hearing and his eyesight isn't the best, so he can startle easily – but as soon as he realizes you're there, he's all tail wags and friendliness. At this stage in life, Charlie's wish is simple: a loving home for his golden years with cozy beds with extra soft blankets, yummy food, and a family who appreciates his gentle soul. Whether you're working from home, watching tv, or washing dishes, Charlie will happily be nearby, snoozing peacefully.
