Maya is a 2-year-old, 34 lb Sato with the sweetest expressive face, adorable little ears, and a smile that lights up every room she walks into. She is the kind of dog who instantly makes people happy. Affectionate, joyful, and full of personality, Maya has the happiest disposition and truly brightens everyone's day. A Sato is a Puerto Rican street dog, known for being resilient, intelligent, and loyal. Maya is still adjusting to life in a home and can be timid in new surroundings at first, so she is looking for an adopter who will give her a little time to settle in and continue building confidence. Even with that initial shyness, her sweet personality shines through quickly. She has already made wonderful progress in foster care and is starting to relax, play with the other dogs, cuddle on the couch, and enjoy all the love and comfort that come with being part of a family. Her foster family has been so impressed with how quickly she is adjusting and how much love she has to give. She is turning into such a cuddly, happy companion, and it is easy to see what a special dog she is.

Training & Support

Maya is fully house trained, leash trained, and sleeps quietly in her crate all night. She also does great crated while her foster is away. She is eager to learn, responds well to treats, and is wonderful with kids and other dogs. Please be ready to train ANY dog you adopt, as any dog that is house or potty trained will still need patience in a new home with new people and a new schedule.
