Max

Max is an approximately 2-year-old Heeler mix who came to us from an Oklahoma foster who wanted to ensure he had the best chance at a permanent placement. Max can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but he quickly shows his true personality once he realizes he's safe. Give him a day or two, and you'll discover a playful, happy companion who loves being around his people. Max enjoys playing with other dogs, chewing on bones, carrying around squeaky toys, and soaking up attention. One of his favorite things is being brushed, and he happily leans in for pets and affection. He tends to form a particularly strong bond with one person, but he enjoys the company of the whole family once he's comfortable.

Ideal Home

Max is looking for a family that understands that not every dog shows their personality immediately. He may be a little cautious at first, but once he settles in, he's affectionate, playful, and eager to be part of whatever his people are doing.

Ongoing Health

Max is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, on monthly preventative, dewormed, and microchipped.

Training & Support

He is potty trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Max comes when called by name and is currently working on mastering "sit." He does great with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion. Cats don't bother him much; in fact, he's usually the one giving them space.
