Max is an approximately 2-year-old Heeler mix currently fostered near Cedar Rapids/Iowa City, Iowa. He may be reserved with new people, but after a day or two he becomes a playful, affectionate companion who loves being with his people. He enjoys dogs, bones, squeaky toys, brushing, and attention, and often forms a special bond with one person while still enjoying the whole family once comfortable.

Ideal Home

Max would thrive with a patient family who understands that he may need time to show his personality. He does well with other dogs and would likely enjoy a canine companion. Cats do not bother him, and he generally gives them space. His interactions with children are unknown.

Ongoing Health

Max is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly preventative care.

Training & Support

Max is potty trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. He comes when called by name and is currently working on mastering “sit.”
