Mavis

Mavis is a 2-year-old, spayed female Shepherd mix who weighs around 55 pounds. She's a gentle, easygoing sweetheart who’s ready to bring calm, love, and quiet joy into your home. Mavis was found at an elementary school and a kind teacher began feeding her, which led to her rescue and journey to foster care. She’s been thriving ever since! Mavis is a low-to-moderate energy dog with a calm demeanor, happy to go on daily walks up to 3 miles and then relax by your side.

Ideal Home

Mavis loves other dogs and thrives in a social environment. She lives with dogs of various sizes and gets along beautifully with them. She's respectful, reads social cues well, and knows when to disengage. A home without cats would be the best fit for Mavis.

Mavis has no known health conditions.

Training & Support

Mavis is house-trained, does well in a crate, and has great manners when left alone. She walks nicely on a leash, is easily redirected, and has excellent manners. She may startle if approached suddenly from behind, so a calm and predictable environment is best. Mavis knows "sit" and is eager to learn more. While not particularly interested in toys yet, she loves treats and will happily show off her learned skills.
