Meet Sable, a goofy girl with endless energy and an even bigger heart! This German Shorthaired Pointer mix found herself at a county shelter, so we don't know much about her past, but we do know she's friendly, playful, and always ready for her next adventure. She absolutely thrives on activity and would love a home that can keep up with her energetic, fun-loving personality. Sable recently attended a training session where she initially barked from excitement but eventually settled in nicely. She showed strong interest in interacting with the other dogs and appeared to be offering playful, social behaviors rather than anything aggressive. She would likely enjoy having compatible canine friends and playmates. She'd make an amazing running, hiking, or outdoor adventure buddy, and she would love another playful dog in the home to help burn off some energy. Like many GSP mixes, she's smart, driven, athletic, and happiest when she has both physical exercise and mental stimulation. She would love a fenced-in yard where she can romp around. She is not the kind of dog who will be content with a quick walk around the block; she's a dog who would love hiking, running, training games, scent work, fetch, or active play sessions. Apartment living is not for Sable! Because of her energy level and breed traits, she would do best with an active adopter – bonus points if you're familiar with German Shorthaired Pointers and understand their need for exercise, structure, and engagement. - You must be 21 years or older to adopt.
- We cannot adopt to homes with invisible fences.
- We request vet and personal references.
- We do not do same-day adoptions. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting.
Transporation
Sable is located at our Cincinnati-based shelter. We can facilitate adoptions within a 30-mile radius of our shelter.
