Meet Norman!

Norman is a snuggly, four-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever/American Pitbull Terrier mix who weighs 73 pounds. He's affectionately nicknamed the "velvet hippo" for his gentle and goofy nature. Norman loves cuddles, comfy dog beds, and spending quality time with his people. He's a bit of a couch potato but has a silly streak, often flopping onto his back to show off his adorable grin. Walks, training games, and belly rubs are his favorite activities, and he truly shines with love and structure. He's happy as long as he has someone to nap near and a little mental stimulation each day. Norman is crate trained, house-trained, and knows several commands, including "sit," "stay," "down," and "place," and he's currently mastering "leave it." He responds well to positive reinforcement and consistency.

Ideal Home

Norman does best in a calm, structured environment with a secure, fenced yard. He needs a home without small children. He has shown reactivity in certain situations outside the home and needs careful introductions and continued guidance with new people and dogs.

Ongoing Health

Norman is a healthy boy, and his adoption includes a full month of behavioral guidance from a consultant to help him settle in.

Training & Support

Norman is crate trained, house-trained, and knows several commands. He is currently mastering "leave it." He responds well to positive reinforcement and consistency. Continued obedience training will help him stay confident and successful on walks.

Transporation

Norman is located in Durham, NC, and will remain with his current family until a suitable new home is found. He is open to a long-distance adoption.
