Tucan was found waiting patiently outside a hotel, a bit lost and alone, with a collar that was too tight. Thankfully, he's now healthy, happy, and bursting with the desire to connect with a loving adopter.
Tucan is a fantastic companion for active individuals or families who enjoy hiking, walking, and exploring the great outdoors. He's a strong, energetic dog with a big personality and a real zest for life. While he loves to play, he also looks to his person for guidance and leadership. He's had experience with many dogs of various sizes and breeds and gets along well with them. What truly shines about Tucan is his eagerness to engage with people; he truly thrives on building a strong bond with his human. Once his energy needs are met, he's more than happy to relax by your side, enjoying affection and downtime together.
Ideal Home
Tucan would thrive in a home that can accommodate his need for space, ideally acreage, a farm, or a ranch. He does not like small or enclosed spaces. Due to his size and energy, he is not recommended for homes with small or young children. He is also not recommended for first-time dog owners or those without prior dog training experience, unless they are deeply committed to learning.

Transportation
Tucan is located near Bucerias, Mexico. We facilitate adoptions to the US and Canada, often using volunteer flight companions (flight angels) departing from Puerto Vallarta. Approved adopters typically meet their new companion at the airport. During summer months, if a Canadian flight angel is unavailable, dogs may fly into the US and be picked up at Peace Arch Park at the border.
