Max is incredibly affectionate and believes physical touch is his love language, often placing a paw on you for attention or snuggling up close on the couch. He truly loves people and greets everyone like a long-lost friend. Max is social and enjoys the company of other dogs, with a playful bully-boy style that involves chase games and romping. He'd do well with a confident, playful female dog who can match his energy and help keep play balanced, or he'd also be happy as an only dog, as people are his top priority.

Ideal Home

A home with a backyard for stretching his legs, sunbathing, and keeping you company would be ideal. Max thrives on companionship and being included in daily life. He's adaptable to both active lifestyles and couch-potato days, as long as he's with his people.

Ongoing Health

Max is believed to be an American Staffy mix, approximately 3 years old and weighing 59 lbs. As with any rescue, breed and exact age are a mystery.

Training & Support

Max is crate trained, potty trained, eager to please, and highly food-motivated, making training a joy. He already knows "sit" and "shake" and would likely enjoy puzzle toys and learning new tricks.

Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pickup in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT). A $87 surcharge applies for transportation. Texas adopters must pick up in the Houston area.
