About Dora

Dora is an adorable 5.5-month-old Lab mix with a heart full of adventure and a desire for a forever family! She came all the way from Puerto Rico to find her perfect match here in the DC area. Dora is a curious explorer who loves to sniff new trails and meet new friends, but she can be a little shy at first. Once she warms up, she's a super affectionate girl who enjoys belly rubs and staying close to her people. She's a smart cookie who would love to go to dog school to show off her intelligence. Dora promises a lifetime of love and loyalty to the family that welcomes her home.

Ideal Home

Dora would thrive in a home that embraces her adventurous spirit. Because she's still young and transitioning from Puerto Rico, she'll need a committed family to help her with socialization. A home with another resident dog, or a family that can regularly take her on walks with other dogs, to dog parks, or to doggie daycare, would be ideal to help her learn the ropes. As a puppy under 6 months, she'll need multiple potty breaks and exercise throughout the day, so adopters with standard 8-hour workdays should be prepared to make arrangements for her care.

Ongoing Health

Dora has received age-appropriate vaccinations, but adopters are responsible for ensuring she completes her puppy vaccine series on schedule. Until she is fully vaccinated, she will be at a greater risk for illness.

Training & Support

Dora will need ongoing house training and obedience school to help her grow into a well-socialized dog.
