Meet Laurel! This brave 2-year-old, 20-pound Collie and Chihuahua mix is a true survivor. She came to us from a hoarding situation and bravely battled pneumonia and distemper. While she'll always have a slight head tremor from her distemper recovery, it doesn't slow her down or cause her any pain – it's just a part of her incredible journey! Laurel is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She's great with other dogs, cats, kids, and all humans, and is looking for her forever home.
Ideal Home
Laurel is a homebody who is gaining confidence in the world. She's still a bit overwhelmed by crowds and strangers, and can be nervous around unfamiliar men. She's working on this, but would do best in a calm and loving home where she can continue to learn at her own pace. A home with someone who understands patience and consistency will be key to helping her feel fully secure.
Ongoing Health
Laurel is a distemper survivor and experiences constant head tremors. These are not expected to require medication at this time.
Training & Support
Laurel is a pee pad pro and is very reliable with her potty habits indoors. Outside potty training is still a work in progress. She can be a bit barky at strangers from the car, and while she's working on her confidence with new people, she may need to be picked up if things get too busy. She used to cry when left alone but now handles solo time like a champ for up to 5 hours. When she's happy, she expresses it with enthusiastic "love jumps"!
