Flower is heartworm-positive and will require treatment. Ellijay Paws in Need will cover the cost of her treatment. The shelter's standard policy is to complete heartworm treatment prior to adoption. However, because Flower and Snowflake's well-being depends on them remaining together, they are open to adopting them to an applicant who can reliably bring Flower to her scheduled treatment appointments. This ensures continuity of care so Flower can safely recover and thrive alongside Snowflake, while allowing both dogs to transition into a home environment sooner. Applicants must understand the importance of following through with vital medical care and be prepared to support Flower throughout her treatment plan.
