Gina is an 8-month-old, 56lb Belgian Malinois mix with a heart of gold and a playful spirit! She was found abandoned as a tiny puppy, left alone in a cardboard box near a busy road, but thanks to her amazing foster family, she's ready to find her forever home. Gina is a social butterfly with familiar dogs and loves a good game of tug-of-war with her smaller foster siblings. While she can be a bit wary of new, larger dogs due to a past negative experience, she's learning to build confidence with slow introductions and has shown she can do well with both small (under 15lbs) and large (over 75lbs) dogs. She's a toy enthusiast, often collecting her treasures in her bed, and she's mastered the art of fetch! Gina's energy is boundless, and she'd thrive in an active home.
Ideal Home
Gina would do best in an active home with a family that can provide plenty of exercise, play, and mental stimulation. She's a big dog who doesn't quite know her own size yet, so a home with older, dog-savvy children (10+) would be ideal. She'd also enjoy living with another dog to keep her company and help her burn off some energy. Gina would prefer a cat-free home as she can be a bit too excited by neighborhood kitties.

Training & Support
Gina is crate trained and working on house training; she's doing well and hasn't had accidents when crated for up to 8 hours. She walks nicely on a leash and shows no signs of separation anxiety. She enjoys her treats alone and is in the "puppy velociraptor stage," so she'll need guidance on appropriate chew items. Prospective adopters should be prepared to provide ongoing socialization and positive training to help Gina grow into a well-mannered adult.

Transporation
Gina is currently in Houston, TX. She can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is found. Transports run every few weeks, and she will be on the next available transport after approval. If you have specific timing needs for adoption, please apply closer to that time.
