Gina is an 8-month-old, 56lb Belgian Malinois mix with a heart full of love and a spirit for adventure! She was found abandoned in a cardboard box near a busy road, a tough start for such a young pup. Thankfully, her foster family has given her a second chance, and now she's ready to find her forever home. Gina is a playful girl who enjoys the company of other dogs, especially her smaller foster siblings. She loves a good game of tug-of-war and will often bring toys to her friends, inviting them to play. While she can be a bit shy around new or larger dogs due to a past negative experience, she thrives with slow introductions. She currently lives happily with dogs both under 15 lbs and over 75 lbs. Gina is a toy enthusiast, collecting them all in her bed and enjoying games of fetch. She's also learning to entertain herself.
Ideal Home
Gina would thrive in an active home with a family who will play with her daily. She's looking for a family with older, dog-savvy children (10 and up) who can handle her enthusiastic greetings. She would do best in a home without cats, as she gets a bit too excited by neighborhood kitties. A family that understands the commitment of raising a large, active dog into a well-mannered adult would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Gina is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations.
Training & Support
Gina is crate trained and making great progress with house training, with no accidents when crated for up to 8 hours. She walks well on a leash and shows no signs of separation anxiety. She does prefer to enjoy her treats alone and is in the "puppy velociraptor" stage, so she'll need guidance on appropriate chewing habits. She will benefit from continued socialization and positive reinforcement training.
