Meet Bijou, a true diamond! Just look at her sweet markings! She’s a 1-year-old Hound mix, about 50lbs, who arrived from a kill shelter in Texas. She was the last of 40 dogs to hitch a ride north! Bijou is described by her foster as goofy, clumsy, extremely cuddly, stubborn at times (but who isn’t?), curious, lovable, playful, quite the "Drama Queen," and adorable!
Ideal Home
Bijou would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention and receive plenty of praise. She loves people and kids, but due to her playful and sometimes clumsy nature, she might accidentally bump into very little ones.

Training & Support
Bijou is smart and responds to the command "break" when playtime gets too rowdy. While she has a dramatic flair and can let out Hound-like yowls when overwhelmed, she will listen and settle down. She does well with other dogs and enjoys their company, but can get a bit dramatic if a playmate is too rough. She lives with cats and generally does fine, though she sometimes wants to play with them more than they want to play with her.

- An application must be completed, followed by a phone interview and a meet-and-greet with your entire family.
- Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check, or $385 by credit card (includes a $10 processing fee). This fee covers spay/neuter (when age-appropriate), age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and microchipping.
Transporation
Bijou is located with her foster family and can be transported to our Wags adoption events.
