Benz is a sweet and affectionate boy who loves to cuddle and spend time with his people. He can be a bit shy when first meeting new people and dogs, but with a few minutes of reassurance, he warms up and becomes a friendly companion. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and even ignores the resident cat! Benz is house-trained and comfortable in his crate when left alone. He enjoys leisurely walks on leash, playing with his sister, and spending time both indoors and outdoors in a fenced yard.

Ideal Home

Benz would thrive in a home with a fenced yard or an invisible fence, as he's not a candidate for dog parks. He enjoys being inside with his family and would love a companion to share his days with.

Ongoing Health

Benz has been neutered, microchipped, and is up-to-date on vaccinations and monthly heartworm prevention. He is from Greece, where Leishmaniasis is endemic. While he tested negative before coming to the USA, the parasite can remain dormant. Adopters must be willing to commit to annual testing for the next 7 years, which typically costs between $80-$250.

Training & Support

Benz is working with a trainer to build his confidence when meeting new people and dogs. His adopter will need to continue this training to help him feel more secure. He responds to his name when called.

Transporation

Benz is located in Durham, NC. We can arrange volunteer transport within the USA for adopters within a 1,000-mile radius of the foster home. Adopters beyond this range will need to drive the remaining distance or arrange and pay for flights. Canadian adopters must pick up their dog in the USA.
