Buford would thrive in a calm, structured home with a confident adopter who can provide consistent training, patience, and reassurance. He needs an experienced adopter who understands his sensitivities. Buford is not tested with children, and he shows reactivity on leash and dog aggression, so he would do best in a home without other dogs.

Training & Support

Buford is an extremely sensitive dog and is working with a trainer. He can be nervous on first approach and may growl or bark at strangers, though he will not bite. He sometimes barks at familiar faces before settling down. Buford also experiences cage and separation anxiety, which may lead to barking when left alone. He responds best to consistent, patient handling and has been working with a remote control collar for safety and guidance.
