Julia (bonded to Lyle)

Julia and Lyle are approximately 5 to 6-year-old, 50 lb Hound mixes who are a bonded pair and an absolute joy to be around. They come from a heartbreaking past, having survived a dire situation where they were rescued from neglect and starvation. Thankfully, after extensive treatment for heartworm and tick-borne diseases, they have not only recovered physically but have blossomed with happiness and energy. These sweethearts are calm and well-behaved, never attempting to escape their secure 5-6 foot fenced yards. They readily go into their crates at night and during inclement weather. Having come directly to rescue, they are new to the idea of a permanent home but are quickly learning to appreciate all the good things life has to offer. They walk beautifully on leash, astonishingly calm around squirrels, deer, and bunnies. They seem to enjoy the company of other dogs and have even learned to coexist peacefully with cats thanks to the training of the rescue's resident feral cat.

Ideal Home

A home with all adults or older children would be ideal, as they have not been observed around younger children.

Ongoing Health

Julia and Lyle have successfully completed treatment for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have reached a healthy weight.

Training & Support

These two are remarkably well-behaved on walks, showing great composure around wildlife. They are also crate-trained and sleep soundly through the night.
