Addie is a 4.5-year-old, spayed female pitbull terrier mix weighing around 45 pounds. She was rescued from the streets of Houston, Texas, where she had experienced a life of struggle, including being underweight and suffering from mange. Now, Addie is a willing and promising pupil, learning what it means to be a loved house dog and embracing her new lease on life. She is a sweet, gentle girl who, once she trusts you, is overflowing with love. Addie is a true survivor, and her resilience is a testament to the incredible spirit of dogs.
Ideal Home
Addie would thrive in a home with a yard to roam and run in, and she'd love a male dog sibling to cuddle with. She enjoys her "Soft Life Era" and would appreciate plenty of couches to lounge on. While she can be good with younger children who understand animal cues, she might prefer older, calmer children or teenagers. Due to her past, supervised interactions are recommended initially.
Ongoing Health
Addie was rescued with mange and was underweight, but she has since recovered and is now healthy.
Training & Support
Addie is crate-trained and sleeps well in her kennel. She has occasionally been trusted to sleep loose and has had no issues in the house, though she may have occasional accidents as she settles into a new routine. She is very food-motivated and will try to eat other pets' food, so feeding her separately is recommended. She is learning that she will be fed regularly and is improving. Addie is not very playful and prefers male dogs of similar or larger size. She is curious about female dogs but hasn't yet found a playmate she enjoys.
