Cleo

Cleo is a lovely 4-year-old, 30 lb. female Labrador mix who was rescued in November 2023. She was found in the street with a leg fracture, but after receiving treatment, she's now healed and ready for her forever home! While she walks a little crooked, she has no special needs and is a testament to resilience and the joy of being alive. Cleo is loyal, grateful, shy at first but quickly becomes loving and calm. She's well-behaved and enjoys car rides, walks on a leash, and crate training.

Ideal Home

Cleo would thrive in a home that is willing to give a rescued pet at least three months to show their best personality. An active family that enjoys daily walks or hiking would be a great fit. A home with a fenced backyard is preferred. Families should have an open mind about the behaviors of street animals and understand their need for protection and education. Previous experience with dog behavior and training is beneficial, and a high tolerance and patience for rescued pups is a must. She is not house-trained.

Ongoing Health

Cleo's medical records are up-to-date. She has been spayed/neutered, received vaccinations for DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella. She has been dewormed, tested for 4DX, and is heartworm negative. She is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventative for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are provided.

Training & Support

Cleo is leash and crate trained and good in the car. She is not house-trained. The organization emphasizes that with so many rescued pets, it's impossible for them to house-train each one. Adopters should be prepared to continue her training in this area.

Transporation

Cleo is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. She is available for transport to the East Coast of the United States. Transportation to the adopter's home address is available for a fee.
