About Nayla

Temp Test: https://youtu.be/4PInGPgv11g?is=oS8peZNleyJ70uK2 : Since May 21st, this sweet 2-year-old girl has been sitting in a kennel wondering when it will finally be her turn. She isn't on the euthanasia list today, but we all know how quickly that can change when a dog becomes a long-term resident. Heartworm Negative Well Behaved Walks Nicely on a Leash Calm and Gentle Quiet in Her Kennel Did very well on her temperament test with male and female dogs When I approached her kennel, she was calm and quiet. She walked beautifully on leash and passed other dogs without any issues at all. Once we got out to the run, I expected her to take off and explore. Instead, she stayed close. While there were plenty of new sights and smells around her, what she seemed to want most was affection. Every time I reached down to pet her, she happily leaned in for more. She wasn't interested in too much other than being close to me. She simply wanted companionship. A kind touch. There was something heartbreaking about it. While so many dogs are bouncing off the walls from kennel stress, this sweet girl quietly waited beside me, content just to be near someone who cared. Dogs like her are often overlooked because they aren't the loudest. They aren't the most dramatic. They don't demand attention. But they deserve it just the same. : Stray – Field : 6/13/2026: Presented with a wagging tail, crouchy body language, and soft facial expression. Walked nicely on a loose leash to the runs, pottied immediately, and kept her kennel clean overnight. 6/11/2026: Greeted staff with a low wagging tail and neutral body. Accepted treats, wagged her tail, and walked gently on leash. 6/10/2026: Quietly rested on her bed throughout the day with a timid but calm demeanor. 6/8/2026: Came to the kennel door to greet staff with a wagging tail. Nuzzled for attention, rolled over for belly rubs, and remained relaxed and affectionate throughout the interaction. 6/7/2026 - 6/1/2026: Consistently described as energetic, social, kennel-clean, easy to leash, and friendly with people. Walked well on leash, showed interest in human interaction, and generally ignored other dogs while passing their kennels. 5/30/2026: Stood at the front of her kennel with soft eyes, ears up, and a wagging tail. Walked on a loose leash and remained calm and friendly. 5/29/2026: Friendly and social during walks. Became excited returning to her kennel and attempted to jump up for attention but settled quickly. 5/28/2026 - 5/25/2026: Initially shy and uncertain in new situations but warmed up with gentle handling. Accepted pets, sought affection, leaned into attention, and became increasingly relaxed and affectionate with staff. 5/24/2026: Relaxed and easy to handle with a neutral body and loose leash walking. No concerns noted.
